Smoked Chicken Wings

  • 3 pounds chicken wings with tips and wings separated
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder


  • In a large bowl, whisk the olive oil, garlic powder and onion powder. Add the wings to the mixture.
  • Mix well with your hands until all of the wings have been seasoned. Let the wings marinate at least 30 minutes (you can also do this the night before and keep covered in the refrigerator).
  • Place the wings on the smoker when it reaches 225 degrees.
  • After 30 minutes turn the wings over and replace the smoker lid.
  • At the 1 hour mark turn the wings again.
  • After 20 minutes, brush the wings with your favorite bbq sauce and replace the lid for another 10 minutes.
  • Turn the wings again and brush with more sauce, replacing the lid for another 10 minutes.
  • Check the temperature and the wings will be ready if they are 165 or above.
