Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook Italian sausage in a saucepan or skillet until well done, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • On a lightly-floured surface, cut bread dough into approximately 12 pieces. Working with one or two pieces at a time, roll or spread each piece out into a long, flat strip.
  • Top with 2 tablespoons cooked Italian sausage. Starting at one end of a strip, roll up the bread dough. Set on a non-stick or lightly-greased baking sheet, seam-side down. Repeat with remaining piece of dough and sausage.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through, until golden brown. Remove and cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  1. To prepare frozen bread dough, thaw bread dough in the fridge a dish covered with plastic wrap 8 to 12 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator and let rise at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours.
