Ingredients

  • 3 ounces peach schnapps (6 tablespoons, see note 1)
  • 3 ounces orange juice (6 tablespoons, see note 2)
  • 1 orange slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a highball or other tall glass with ice. Add peach schnapps and orange juice. Using a bar spoon, gently stir to combine and garnish with an orange slice.

Notes

  1. Peach schnapps: The "fuzzy" in "Fuzzy Navel" refers to peach fuzz. In 1984, DeKuyper made the first peach-flavored schnapps in the US: Peachtree.
  2. Orange juice: The "navel" in "Fuzzy Navel" refers to navel oranges.
  3. Yield: This recipe makes 1 cocktail.
  4. Glassware: A Fuzzy Navel is traditionally made in a highball glass, an 8-ounce to 12-ounce glass tumbler such as a Collins glass.
  5. Big batch: To make a batch of 8 cocktails, combine 24 ounces (3 cups) peach schnapps and24 ounces (3 cups) orange juice in a pitcher. Have ice, glassware, and orange slices on hand so guests can help themselves.
  6. Hairy navel: Add 1 to 1 1/2 ounces (2 to 3 tablespoons) vodka with the schnapps.
  7. Mimosa: Substitute 3 ounces (6 tablespoons) champagne for the peach schnapps.
  8. Non-alcoholic: Substitute peach juice or nectar for the peach schnapps.
