An easy recipe for Circus Animal Cookie Popcorn, a sweet and salty snack that your kids will love! Great for school lunches, parties, or pure nostalgia.
Servings 14 cups
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels plus oil for popping (stovetop method)
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- Salt to taste
- 10-12 ounce bag white candy melts or almond bark
- 1/2 cup bright pink candy melts
- 1 cup pink and white circus animal cookies crushed
- Rainbow nonpareils
Pop popcorn kernels in an air popper or on the stovetop using package directions. Place popcorn in a large bowl and drizzle with the melted butter. Toss well to coat and season with salt, to taste. Set aside.
Melt white and pink candy melts on 50% power for 30-60 second increments, until melted. Pour the white candy melts over the popcorn and stir gently to coat. Spread coated popcorn out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with the crushed circus animal cookies, then drizzle with the pink candy melts. Sprinkle the non-pareils over the popcorn and place somewhere cool and dry to allow popcorn to set up.
Once candy melts have hardened, break popcorn up into small clumps and serve or store in airtight container until ready to eat.
